Which is the best time to trek Gomukh?
Gomukh, or Gaumukh, is one of the holiest places in the entirety of Uttrakhand. It is mostly crowded with devotees, given its mythological history. It is located within the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and is not exactly a tourist destination, even though it offers a great trek.
The winter months in the area are too cold for trekking or even a short visit. Rainfall is another factor that makes transportation difficult canceling out monsoon also. Thus, the best time to visit is in spring, autumn, and summer months. The site of Gomukh is where the glacier starts melting and is best visited from April to June and again from September to November.
