Which are the best trekking places in Calicut?
Jog falls the highest waterfall in India. It is located 347kms from Calicut and it the major tourist destination. The fall drops from a height of 253 meters. The jog fall flows north-west through the Western Ghats.
Munnar is a hill station that was built in the 19th century. It lies in the Western Ghats mountain range. Having a height of around 5,000 feet, Munnar hill has many hiking trails all around it. Thoovanam waterfalls are among the most beautiful waterfall in Kerala. It is a popular trekking trail in Munnar. Anamudi peak being in a 20km distance from Munnar is the highest peak in South India, at an altitude of 8,842ft. It is famous for kurunji flowers that bloom once in every 12 years.
Nandi Hills is a mountain station in Karnataka. It is 313kms from Calicut. It is also a one day trip from Bangalore. The name of this hill is given on behalf of the mount of Lord Shiva, Nandi. The mountain is a source of many rivers. The hill features many temples, bungalows, and a Kalyana mantap on the top.
