Ramshej is a place 14kms from Nashik. Having its name comes from the history of Ramayana. This place is known to have been a place where Lord Rama rested during his exile. This fort also has a history of being attacked by Aurangzeb for five and a half years after the death of Shivaji Maharaj. It is an easy trek with temples and caves on its way. Don?t miss the chor-darwaja on the west. It is a bit slippery by it, an excellent place to go to with a group of friends.
Harischandragad has a medium level of difficulty while trekking. The ford is very well-built. It is the most exciting trek as it provides a lot of variety to the trekkers. The few steps which are taken to reach the top is very steep because of the continuous water flow that has left moss there. The place is over-all covered with thick fog. The monkeys can be trouble.
