South India contains some of the country?s most biodiverse environments which are offbeat but can be reached by trekking. Here are some of them:
? Agasthyamalai Hills
Located between Tamil Nadu and Kerala, These hills are noted as the habitat for at least 2,000 species of medicinal plants, of which 50 are rare and endangered. This trek can be quite strenuous and should be pursued during the off-season for the best experience.
? Channaranya Durga
Channaranya Durga is easily accessible from Bangalore, though relatively unexplored. The old hilltop fort makes the journey worthwhile by offering a look at medieval military might of long-gone empires.
? Kolli Hills
Situated in Tamil Nadu, they are about 1000-1300 meters in height and Have Mountains covered with evergreen forests. This place is pollution-free and not crowded at all ? the perfect destination for a real, calming vacation.
