Where can I camp at Tadiandamol? Is solo trekking and camping allowed if I have a lot of experience?

Published On 17 May 2020 by Harshit Patel

Being the highest peak in Coorg, the beauteous hill of Tadiandamol is elevated to about 1748m. Trekkers in the region are offered a panoramic view of the thriving vegetation from the peaks. One can approach the summit from Nalakand Palace, which is at the base of the hill. There are a few places hikers can where hikers can set their camp. Just before reaching the peak, there is a forest stretch of around 1.5 km. This is one of the most popular places for camping. However, elephants are almost always found roaming in the forest, thus making it unsafe for campers. Another camping site is at the peak. However, the gushy winds and the lack of a source of water make it yet another inadvisable spot for camping. A big rock is found almost 30 minutes before the peak where water is also available. That is somewhere hikers tend to set their camps.

It is not advisable to travel solo. In spite of the experience, you will need someone who has already been there.
