What do you think about the use of chemical warmers for winter treks in terms of sustainable travel and environmental preservation?

Published On 17 May 2020 by Harshit Patel

Chemical hand and feet warmers are a new approach to provide heat to the body. They are not insanely expensive and could be used while trekking in snowy places. These chemical warmers are made of elements like iron, cellulose, water, vermiculite, activated carbon, and various other salts that act as a catalyst. These packets work on the principle of exothermic reaction that releases heat in the process.

These chemical warmers are available in both single-use and reusable types. It is advised to make a better investment by purchasing a reusable chemical warmer instead of a disposable one. Disposable warmers will result in the littering of chemicals in the valley, while reusable warmers are a sustainable approach to the problem.
