Next to Prabalgarh Fort, the Kalavantin Durg Trek is one of the best one-day treks near Mumbai. This trek could easily be spotted from Panvel. A few tips to keep in mind are as follows:
- Avoid monsoon season while trekking to this place. The surface gets muddy and slippery which increases the risk factor. The best time to visit is from October to May.
- The wind is very strong at higher altitudes. It is advised to strengthen the grip on the rocks.
- Accommodation is easily available for trekkers in the nearby Prabalmachi Village. You could also ask your tour operator to arrange your stay.
- The trek includes the stairway carved into the mountains in a zigzag manner. People with vertigo are advised not to go to this trek.
