The type of trekking shoes depends on the area you?re trekking in. The Chadar Trek has it all, rock areas, snowy areas, lush green areas, you name it and it has it. It?s better to use different shoes for different regions, rather than just sticking to just any one kind of shoe. Here, shoes from Adidas, Reebok, Forclaz 500 and Quecha are the preferred shoe brands for trekking.
You can either wear hiking shoes for the most part of the trek or you can completely rely on the gum-boots for the trek since they can be used to walk on any kind of surface. The other option is to wear shoes according to the conditions of the surface since it changes almost every day as the weather can be quite unpredictable out in the valley due to its surface formation which can be both complete and incomplete at certain places in the path.
