Winters are breathtakingly heavenly. Both literally and metaphorically. Frozen lakes, iced-mountains, snowcapped trees and you, an enthusiastic trekker amidst this not so usual scenario can together make some of the best memories to cherish throughout your life. Some of the best places to trek during December in India are listed below, starting from easy, moderate to difficult treks.

1) Nag Tibba winter trek, Uttarakhand (9915 ft)
Close to Mussoorie, this trek begins at the lower Himalayas and takes you through rocks, Woody forests, and Meadows. It?s easy, friendly and happening. Perfect for family outings.

2) Chopta, Tungnath and Chandrashila trek, Uttarakhand (13123 ft)
Moderately difficult, this trek offers an exquisite view of peaks like Kedar, Charkhamba and Nanda Devi, etc. Deoria Taal lake is also a major attraction. It?s perfect for beginners who wish to trek a little on the challenging side.

3) Markha Valley winter trek, Ladakh (13288 ft)
Offbeat, culturally rich and raw, this trek can serve to be a soul-warming, one for those looking to touch their wanderlust buds. It is moderately difficult, enchanting and completely engaging.
