Brief Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

We will take our flight from Delhi preferably in the morning itself and reach Leh by afternoon. On reaching Leh, which is at a height of 11,150 ft you will be transferred to a hotel where you can rest and acclimatize. It is very necessary to acclimatize to such heights to prevent acute mountain sickness and other health problems.

Meals : Dinner Only
Accommodation : Hotel
Altitude : 11,150 ft.

On day 2, after having our breakfast we will be visiting the two famous monasteries in Leh, that is Thicksey and Shey monasteries. After our visit, we will return to our hotel, have lunch, and then we will explore the Leh market in the evening along with other places to visit. After having our dinner we will return to our hotel and rest for the day.

Meals : Breakfast only
Accommodation : Hotel
Altitude : 11,150 ft.

Today we will be driving from Leh to Hinju, which is a 5-6 hours drive and visit the famous Alchi monastery. Hinju is a village, at a height of 12,303 ft having an eleventh-century gompa on a high cliff. We will be walking for an hour alongside the Ripchar valley to reach the campsite near Hinju. We will settle down for the night at Hinju and retire to our tents.

Meals : B, L, D
Accommodation : Homestay/ Tents
Time Taken : 5 hours drive, 1 hour trek
Altitude : 12,303 ft.

It is said that the higher up we go along the Ripchar valley the views get more beautiful, the forests get thicker, and a wider variety of flora and fauna starts to emerge. From camp, the climb will be short but very steep towards the top of the pass. On reaching you will forget all the pains and would just feel relaxed while you will be enjoying the view of Prinkiti La. After we’ve captured the nature in our cameras we will descend to Sumdo Chenmo. We will be camping there for the night.

Meals : B, L, D
Accommodation : Tents
Altitude : 14,107 ft.

Today we will descent to Lanak. Initially, the descent will be steep but as the height reduces we will find the descend to become more gentle towards Lanak. We will be camping near a lake called Sumda Chu for the night.

Meals : B, L, D
Accommodation : Tents
Altitude : 13,123 ft.

The Sumda village is largely self-sufficient even though it seems to be pretty isolated and shows hardly any sign of changes (from a development point of view). Dungduchun La is a small pass that has its path crossing from this village. The view from the top of this pass is ideal for clicking some jaw-dropping pictures. For our descend, we will follow the path that leads us to Chilling. We will be reaching Chilling late in the evening, therefore we will stay there for the night before continuing with our descend.

Meals : B, L, D
Accommodation : Tents/ Homestay
Altitude : 10,662 ft.

Chilling is famous for producing metal works that are unique and beautiful. After having our breakfast we will depart for Leh. It will be a short drive to Leh for about 2 hours. No words for the bike trip from Srinagar to Leh. One should experience it to feel it and all this because of the management of Trekmunk especially Mohit and Harshit whose efforts even made the hardest of the ride exciting adventurous and above all safe. Although some hindrances which are quite common like bike issues and medical problems arose with our co-riders, I liked the way these two guys handled it dexterously. I went with one of my best friends and came with a lot more and the trip turned out to be memories that can be cherished for a lifetime. Thanks, Team Trekmunk for giving me a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go on my next adventure with them.

I chose (after a lot of research) Trekmunk for my first trek - The Hampta Pass and Chandratal Trek. And I am so really glad I did so. The trekker needs to only focus on the trek and the beautiful landscape around him/her. The rest of everything is taken care of by Trekmunk from day 1 till the end of the trek. Scrupulously managed logistics; no compromise on safety and security; experienced, intelligent and knowledgeable trek leaders; scrumptious meals; contingency and backup plans; etc. make Trekmunk an ideal choice to go trekking with. My trek was lead by Ashish Pathania, Prashant Reddy and Sanjay Thakur. The three are were thorough professionals. They were jolly, very helpful, experienced, knowledgeable, organized, and needless to say polite yet strict when needed. They played the most important roles in making sure our overall trekking experience was a wonderful one. Thank you Trekmunk for one of the most beautiful experiences I have had till date. Will see you guys soon.

Staying in tents was so much fun. And our guide had all the knowledge about the trek. Trekmunk is really good with its food and accommodation facilities. I highly recommend Trekmunk.
