Sandakphu is a wonderland for trekkers. It is located at an altitude of 11,929ft. It is the highest point in the Singalila range in the state of West Bengal, India. Hardcore trekking and backpacking enthusiastic plan their trek here in January to enjoy the snow. With proper preparations and precautions, you will not face many problems. This includes getting warm clothes and appropriate trekking gear. It will help you protect against the cold. The temperature in Sandakphu is around 5 to 6 C. The condition may get worse.
Plan your trek during this time of the year only if you are a seasoned trekker. It is one of the few treks open even during the winter season of Himalayas. It is less crowded during the winter months. You can allow yourself to enjoy the magnificent views of the northeast Himalayas this place has to offer.
