Is a permit required to trek from ChandraTal to the Baralacha la ?

Published On 17 May 2020 by Harshit Patel

At an altitude of 4270 m, the Chandratal lake of Spiti valley is a beauty to sore eyes lying between the main kunzum range and low ridge. This lake is also called "The Moon Lake".
The best time to travel and trek from Chandratal to Baralacha la is during June and September months. There is no permit required while traveling from Chandratal unless you are traveling from the Manali side where you need a pass for Rohtang Valley. Do not fear and try avoiding travel during an extreme time like winter months from Jan to March.
