If you are going on a trek or a hike, you should always pack light. You should take only the essential things that you can hold yourself. The recommended weight to carry during trekking is about 6 to 8 kg. You will be able to bring these belongings quickly if you have good physical strength and stamina. There are benefits to taking your luggage.
You can hire porters to carry your added luggage, but their rates will entirely depend on the trek, season, and duration. Human potter and mules would take around 25 kg and 100 kg, respectively. Usually, they would charge you between 800 and 1200 INR per day. The price may get surged to 1200 to 1500 INR per day if the trek is popular. In the accessible areas with easy treks, you will get the price on the lower side with around 600 to 900 INR per day.
