Can a first timer do friendship peak trek? By first timer means a 30 year old guy and have done 4-5 treks in the western ghats but no Himalayan experience?

Aage does not play a very big factor if you are physically fit for the trek. Since you have already done a few treks in the Western ghats, you do have experience of trekking in the mountains which will obviously help you in trekking in the Himalayas. The only difference will be that you will need to carry more equipment since the peaks are snow-covered almost throughout the year. Since the Friendship peak is located at a height of 17,348ft in the Pir Panjal Range in Himachal Pradesh, the height is much more as compared to the hills in the western ghats, you might face altitude sickness or feel a little nauseous due to low oxygen level so don?t forget to carry necessary medications.
